Every fire safety measure in the building must be regularly checked and tested, and its compliance certified in accordance with the Building Code, Building Regulations and the applicable Australian Standards. The building’s Annual Essential Safety Measures Report, or “AESMR” must be documented each year by or on behalf of the owner to show that all required servicing and checks have been completed.
Note: Buildings constructed or renovated after 1994 require quarterly inspections of Paths of Egress, Discharge from Exits and Exit door.
